OUR MISSION
We believe that every student, regardless of sexual or racial identity, financial status, ethnicity, etc., should have access to primary education that is equal and of good quality. Our goal is to help as many students attain a primary education and support them in furthering their education.
THE PROBLEM: A GLANCE AT INEQUALITY
WHAT
Educational Inequality is the uneven distribution of learning resources like school funding, supplies (books, bags, pens), proficient teachers, and technology among communities due to the gap in socioeconomic classes, poverty, culture, racial discrimination, bad public policy, and gender bias.
IMPACT
Educational inequality led to increased unemployment and the proliferation of crimes, creating an unsafe environment for students and, in some cases, leading to life-changing devastation. These changes can be seen distinctively across countries in Asia and Africa but comprehensively in nations worldwide.
WHAT MOVES TO MAKE
We propose advocacy for girl-child education and governmental support for students to create safer educational systems. We advise that societies strive to create emotionally safe environments where students are not judged based on their skin color or their level of intelligence but rather seen as equals. We also believe that financial support for teachers is paramount to creating educational equity and equality.
WHAT WE DO
MENTOR PROGRAMS
At Raising a Scholar, we offer mentor programs for students worldwide. Mentoring is done by individuals who are interested and meet the mentoring criteria.
RESOURCE DONATION
We believe that infrastructure and materials are essential for proper education. So, we donate resources like technologies (computers ), school supplies, and money to schools/organizations. Our donations come from communities, members, and individuals who support our mission.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS/OPPORTUNITIES
Raising a Scholar offers self-organized scholarship opportunities. We also partners with organizations to raise scholarship money for students.
